Santa Clara County CCW Training
Gun Kraft provides CCW training for students applying through Santa Clara County.
When Can You Train
Do not take your CCW training until you've been approved. They will reject any training completed before approval. Our classes meet the training requirements of Santa Clara County.
Allowed Pistols and Modifications
You may list up to three firearms on your permit. Any legal firearm modifications are allowed. Optics, magazine disconnect removal, and lights are okay—as long as they're legal.
Holsters
Holster draw is part of the qualification, so bring a proper holster.
- Recommended OWB holsters:
- Holsters must attach to your belt
- IWB holsters are allowed but must
- Be rigid (not collapse when empty)
- No thumb break (these are unsafe)
- No off-body, shoulder, or behind-the-back holsters
- Unsafe, cheap, or floppy holsters will not be allowed
- Tip: If you're unsure about your holster, contact us before class.
Range Qualification
- You must qualify with each firearm you list on your CCW
- Passing score is 84% (25 of 30 rounds) inside the 8-ring of a B-27 target
- Private coaching is available if you have difficulty meeting the requirements

Ammunition
New Applicants:
- 60 rounds for qualification per pistol
- 200 rounds for training
Example:
- Two pistols (same caliber): 350 rounds total
- Two pistols (different calibers): 100 rounds for one, 300 for the other
Renewals:
- 60 rounds for qualification per pistol
